Two Young Dallas Girls Die Together in Texas Flood

Two young girls from Dallas, Lila Bonner (9) and Eloise Peck (8), were confirmed dead on July 6, 2025, following the devastating flash floods that struck Central Texas on July 4. The girls were best friends and cabinmates at Camp Mystic in Kerr County. They went missing along with other campers during the flood.

A third Dallas girl, Hadley Hanna, remained missing as of July 6. Lila’s family confirmed her death on July 5, and Eloise’s family did so the following day, asking for privacy as they mourned. Eloise’s mother described her as a kind, animal-loving child who was loved deeply by her family.

Alive11 reporter Kaitlyn Ross shared a tribute, writing that the girls died together and would never be forgotten. OKCM Search and Rescue posted updates online, noting that 11 campers and 1 counselor were still missing.

Communities across Texas shared posts and prayers as the tragedy unfolded.

By July 6, more than 50 people had died in the Texas floods, with the number expected to rise as search efforts continued.
